Tehran, August 2, – In a forceful statement marking the first anniversary of the assassination of former Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) rejected the notion of a two‑state solution as a “devilish conspiracy” and reaffirmed its vision of “full liberation” of Palestine. The IRGC described recent international support for such a deal as “satanic efforts … prescribing a two‑state solution to end the Palestinian issue” and credited the recent Al‑Aqsa Storm operation, led by Hamas on October 7, 2023, as “not just a passing event but a strategic doctrine sealed by the blood of martyrs.”
“We will never ever recognize Israel,” the statement quoted, invoking a slogan widely associated with Haniyeh and the resistance movement. The IRGC asserted that the path to justice lies in continued resistance rather than diplomacy, branding co‑existence with the so-called “Zionist regime” as immoral and futile, describing it as a facade for imperial control over the Muslim world’s strategic regions.
The statement also positioned the IRGC as a guardian of Palestinian aspirations, emphasizing hidden capabilities within the resistance front that, according to Iranian officials, promise eventual victory. The group went further to denounce international expectations of disarmament, declaring that true liberation will only come through ideological and military commitment.
This proclamation comes in the wake of a United Nations‑hosted conference held in New York from July 28 to July 30, 2025, co‑chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, aimed at reviving two‑state diplomacy, a vision Iran flatly rejects. In contrast, the IRGC statement emphatically endorsed the eradication of Israel rather than its recognition, harking back to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s long‑held goal of dismantling the regime within 25 years.
